Enlighten came out of an experiment with EMD effect pigments. I was intrigued by the different quality they bring to paint. I wanted a lighter painting, almost monochromatic but not quite monochromatic.

The title arrived because of what the painting seemed to hold...a silvery light that felt connected to something I return to in meditation. I believe that a universal energy moves through everything and that we have to open ourselves to receive it. Enlighten is that opening and connection.
