The Lovesong series came out of one of the most tender passages of my life. My son had just moved into his first apartment in the city and I felt the distance stretch in a new way. Before I picked up a brush I had done a deep somatic release, and what poured out afterward was everything I had been holding...the love and the grief of letting go.

As I painted I was reaching for something beyond myself, calling for support from above to help me be the best mother I could be. I painted all my hopes for him into the canvas...that he would always have strength at his back, that love would always shine down on him, and that the bond between us would hold no matter the distance. This series is a true love song.
