My Armenian grandmother repeatedly kept showing up in my meditations and I felt compelled to express her journey to America in my abstract style. I grew up hearing stories and my grandfather kept a journal of their journey so combined with my meditation, I felt ready to create this work; as though I was the vessel for her to express what she couldn't given the time she lived in. She was very creative, sewed beautiful clothing, and wrote poetry and plays.
