This painting was a fun exploration of bold colors to create a statement piece where someone wants a cheerful statement. The looseness of the white strokes of paint break up the bold colors slowing down the eyes to make connections between areas of colors and shapes. There is bravery required for covering up so much. It is a real thing artists feel to have concern over losing parts of the painting they love. I often will blast some music to thrust me past that fear...as you can see in the video clip of this painting.
