This painting came out of a period when I was meditating more than usual and sitting with the idea that we are all held inside something much larger than ourselves.

The deep navy creates a contrast to draw you in. The lighter blue breathes while the dark grounds it. Together they create a quiet depth that opens up as you relax into it. I worked with a brush and a silicone catalyst wedge, using the wedge to apply, blend, and move the paint across the surface in ways a brush alone can’t achieve. The U shape is in there deliberately. It carries the same meaning it holds across a lot of my work: a reminder that life is so much bigger than what seems to be right before us..
